THE ACOUSTIC PRINCIPLE

A product can be tested. A building performs as a complete construction.

Acoustic performance depends on mass, resilience, absorption, airtightness, structural isolation and the control of flanking paths. A strong central layer can still be undermined by a rigid perimeter, an untreated service opening or the wrong construction sequence.

01 / IDENTIFY THE TRANSMISSION

Different noises require different system responses.

The starting point is not “Which acoustic roll?” It is the type of noise, how it enters the structure and where the unwanted sound is experienced.

01NOISE ROUTE

IMPACT NOISE

Footfall, dropped objects and activity excite the floor structure. The response normally begins with separation, resilience and controlled perimeter isolation.

02NOISE ROUTE

AIRBORNE NOISE

Speech, television, music and plant noise pass through partitions, linings and ceilings. Mass, absorption, airtightness and decoupling must work together.

03NOISE ROUTE

STRUCTURE-BORNE NOISE

Vibration can bypass the main acoustic layer through rigid junctions, fixings, services and flanking paths. Continuity at interfaces is critical.

02 / FLOORS + IMPACT NOISE

Resilient separation must continue to every edge.

IMPACTODAN belongs within compatible floating-floor constructions, while CONFORDAN routes address suitable timber, laminate or direct-finish floor applications. The finish, screed, loading and required performance determine the route.

IMPACTODAN

Cross-linked polyethylene acoustic membrane used to reduce impact-noise transmission between a structural slab and a separated screed. Laps, perimeter strips and service isolation form part of the system.

CONFORDAN

Acoustic underlay families selected around the intended timber, laminate or compatible direct floor finish. Product variant and compressive behaviour must match the final build-up.

Mass and absorption work best when the construction is decoupled.

DANOFON, ACUSTIDAN and specialist SONODAN routes serve different lining, partition, ceiling and service conditions. The supporting frame, boards, cavity, fixings and junction treatment remain part of the tested system logic.

A high-density bituminous membrane between porous textile layers, used within suitable wall linings, partitions and floating-ceiling constructions to address low, medium and high frequencies.

Multilayer acoustic solutions for compatible cavity walls, linings and selected building-service details. The PRO route adds specialist fire-performance and high-performance options where the complete system requires them.

A project-led lining component for demanding acoustic build-ups, coordinated with framing, absorbent layers, plasterboard mass and anti-resonance detailing.

The M.A.D. family uses high-density bituminous acoustic membranes within compatible layered constructions. These membranes are not decorative linings and should not be judged as standalone “dB products”.

Select mass, format and fire route around the full assembly.

Noise often escapes through the elements treated last.

Drainpipes, bends, frame junctions, perimeters and service penetrations can become dominant transmission paths. They require compatible acoustic layers and continuity—not improvised offcuts.
